Well I went out to Mi Pueblo's on Saturday with the family and I was a little skeptical at first. I've never eaten in restaurant with more Hispanic authenticity than Chi Chi's or Taco bell, so I wasn't sure what to expect.
I was pleasantly surprised at the entire experience. The atmosphere was awesome, lots of music and the setting itself brought me out of Kalamazoo and into somewhere warmer for a change. The food was delicious. Chips and salsa for the appetizer and chicken quesadillas for my entree (I know, stepping outside the box, right?) and it was excellent. Way more onions, peppers, spices, and even chicken packed into them than I'm used to getting. Parents ordered meals, the names of which I can't recall, but both looked spicier than I can handle. They assured me that it was good, but my stomach decided not to push it's luck.
My only bad experience came just as I was about to leave. As it turned out, it was my turn to get the check and I wound up dropping a week's gas money. But hey, worth the cost for the new experience I suppose. Overall it was a lot of fun to actually sit down and chat with the folks in a nice environment.
